Nothing lasts, everything changes. Things are meant to come & go, come & go. In the meantime we make a commitment to the practice. We do not waste time being selfish. Selfishness is a heavy burden that we relinquish. It is the bedrock of Zen & Ch\u2019an Buddhism. It is the bedrock of all sacred teachings that tell us to STOP worrying about our selfishness.<\/strong><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<\/div>\n

\n<\/div>\n

The delusion of existence is a constant threat to our letting go of our selfish attitude. When delusion is forceful it builds barriers that are built from desire and hate. The three poisons rely on our tendency to get, have & keep what we want. We tend to want life to be as we wish, which is a foolish endeavor.<\/p>\n

Selfishness of ego is a detriment to going beyond this delusional world which is full of desires and hateful discriminations. We go so far as to turn against ourselves instead of letting go of our attachment to selfish desire, selfish hate and wildly selfish delusions.<\/p>\n

When we study ourself in such a manner that we forget our selfishness we rest in the clear circle of brightness. We no longer harbor ill-will, or lust, or daydreams of illusions of greater, better & best.<\/p>\n

We set down the selfishness and find we are free in a way that we have overlooked.<\/p>\n

We yearn and long for solitude and silent illumination that goes beyond the physical, material world. It is not a pastime, it is not a hobby, or a game. It is a turning around the grasping mind, the angry hurts, the fabrications of grandeur towards the dharma realm.<\/strong><\/em><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<\/div>\n

The\u00a0dharma realm\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>of the ultimate truth. When we realise the ground of our mind-consciousness we begin to understand that\u00a0everything in the world\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>is subject to impermanence, the suffering of dissatisfaction for things changing, and reliance on \u201cme, my, mine & I.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n

Everyone experiences these states of existence. Everyone!<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/blockquote>\n

When we give up the attachment to the\u00a0self<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0we are home free. This practice, however, requires a deep commitment to relinquish the attachment to \u201cI.\u201d<\/p>\n

Here is a tip that helps us let go: we study ourselves in relation to the phenomenal world. The phenomenal world is where all things are changing. When we recognize this to be true it shows us time and time again that\u00a0nothing remains the same<\/strong><\/em>. Everything changes.<\/p>\n

    \n
  • Everything changes. Everything perishes. Do not get attached to formations.<\/li>\n
  • Suffering follows.<\/li>\n
  • Drop the \u201cI.\u201d Do not make comparisons, do not set up differences, do not offer opinions or speculations. We must drop our \u201cselfishness.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    When we are able to settle and still the mind, we are able to see the\u00a0dharma realm<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0arising everywhere. It is called\u00a0empty mind.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

    Everything is interconnected with everything. We humans are not left out of this vast, empty connection. We are all ONE.<\/p>\n

    The ONE is everything & everything is ONE.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/blockquote>\n

    When we have forgotten our true nature we divide the world. When we know our true nature, we realize we are ONE. Much like the spider and the spider web\u2026when it is finished it rolls up the web and returns to the ONE that is waiting for it to return.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<\/div>\n
